過去にTOKYO ROCK BLASTERがライヴを行った沖縄・コザのライブハウス「7th HEAVEN KOZA」。バンドで遠征した時にはいつもお世話になっているし、自分がプライベートで沖縄を訪れる際もよく足を運ぶ場所です。何度もセッションに参加させてもらったり、ライヴが無い時も飲みに行ったり。周年祭では舞台監督をやらせてもらったこともあります。仲間もたくさんいるとても大切な場所です。
9月に発売された大村孝佳8年ぶりのニューアルバム『Angels In The Dark』。前作でも英詞の作詞を数曲担当させて頂きましたが、ありがたいことに今回も収録されているうちの5曲を担当させて頂きました。前作の作詞の話（こちら）でも少し触れましたが、大村氏の楽曲とは何だか相性が良くて自分でも驚くような言葉／フレーズの引き出しを毎回開けてくれるような気がします。今回も歌詞の想像力を掻き立ててくれるような楽曲ばかりでしたが、その中でも"Now I Understand"は一際世界観がありデモ音源を聴いた時に思わず「おお！」と声を出しましたね（笑）

"Somebody Save Me"はCINDERELLAの中でも"Shake Me"や"Gypsy Road"と並んで個人的に大好きな曲。思えば高校生の時に学校の友達たちと組んでいたバンドでも演奏していました。なので色々思い入れもあったりします。フレーズやアレンジはいたってシンプルな曲な分グルーヴ感や雰囲気を再現するのはなかなか難しい曲でもあります。
TOKYO ROCK BLASTERは2013〜2017年頃まではかなり活発に動いていたのですが、その後活動を一時活動を休止。ご存知の方もいるとは思いますが、本来なら今年の4月に3年ぶりの復活ライヴを予定していたのですがコロナの影響で無期延期になりました。現在もコロナ収束の目処が立たずリスケジュールもなかなかできない状況ですが、収束した際には必ずライヴをやりますので、楽しみにして待っていて頂けると嬉しいです！
BLINDMAN 1stアルバム『Sensitive Pictures』が発売されて間もない頃のライヴ映像。曲はその1stに収録されている"The Man In The Mirror"。当時のライヴでは人気があって必ず盛り上がる曲でした。その後、アルバム発売を重ねていくにつれライヴではなかなか披露されなくなった楽曲なので、そういった意味でも貴重な映像だと思います！ギターの中村さんはこの頃PRSのギターを使っていましたね。
