今までに手掛けた英詞の中で個人的に気に入っているのがBABYMETALのギタリストとしても活躍している大村孝佳くんのソロアルバム『Devils in the Dark』の歌詞です。大村くんの楽曲とは何だか相性がいいのか、満足のいく歌詞が書けるし自分でも驚くような新しい引き出しを開いてくれるというか。過去に使ったことのない言葉や言い回しが自然と浮かんでくるような気がします。中でも気に入っているのが"Shadows Of Eternity"という曲の歌詞です。言葉の流れや歌のメロディ／リズムへの乗り方等、個人的な満足度が高かった気がします。

この作品の依頼を請けた時は大村くんから「ダークな歌詞で」というリクエストがあったので、それに沿った形で書きました。以前に紹介したDEAD EYED SPIDERの歌詞もそうですが、やはり暗めでネガティヴな内容の歌詞の方が何故か得意なんだよね。
俺、暗いのかな？（笑）
そんなことはどうでもいいとして・・・この大村くんのソロ作品用に書いた歌詞は既に8年前にリリースされた曲のものです。時が経つのが早いですね〜。そして、今月末には大村くんの8年ぶりのソロアルバム発売が決定しています。この新作でも数曲作詞をさせて頂いています！なかなか豪華なゲストを迎えてのアルバムみたいだし、自分の書いた歌詞がどのような仕上がりになっているのか非常に楽しみです！
